Buffalo State hands Morrisville State hockey 7-2 loss

Visiting Buffalo State hockey tallied four second period goals en route to a 7-2 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over Morrisville State College Saturday night.



Morrisville State slips to 1-3-0 overall, while Buffalo improves to 2-1-0.



Todd Hosmer (Scarborough, ONT) tallied both goals for the Mustangs with Patrick Stillar (Burlington, ONT) picking up an assist on each goal.



Justin Knee (Centralia, ONT) led the Bengals with two goals and an assist in the victory. Mike Connelly (Shoreham, NY) also tallied two for Buffalo, with Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ONT), Jason Cleaver (York, PA) and Eric Bajc (Gasport, NY) each adding one.



Buffalo State ended the first period with just a one goal lead, but quickly added another early in the second period off a power play goal making the score 2-0. The Mustangs answered back with a goal just over a minute later, bringing them within one. The Bengals, however, answered back adding three more in the high scoring period, leading the Mustangs 4-1 at the end of the second period.



The Bengals scored again early in the third period before the Mustangs could put their second goal of the game on the board, which came off of a six on four power play. Again, Buffalo didn't take long to respond, scoring their final goal of the game four minutes later.



Kevin Carr (Unionville, ONT) recorded the win for Buffalo saving 31, including 14 in the final period, as the Bengals picked up the conference win.



Christopher Azzano (Oshawa, ONT) recorded the loss between the pipes, saving 36.



Morrisville State returns to the ice Friday November 11, as they travel to Cortland at 7 p.m.
