The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2012 NABC Division III All-District teams and coaches, naming Morrisville State sophomore Mickey Davis (Jamesville, N.Y. / Jamesville-DeWitt) to its East All-District second team.

The NABC recognizes the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division, as selected by member coaches of the association.

The 6-foot-5 forward led Morrisville State and the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) in scoring this season, averaging 17.5 points per game, while adding averages of 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game for the Mustangs.

A threat both inside and from beyond the arc, Davis hit 50 from downtown, while converting a season total 192 shots from the floor.

He scored in double figures in all but three contests on the season, highlighted by a career high 35 points that earned NEAC Player of the Week honors in December.

Named the NEAC Player of the Year, Davis also garnered All-Conference First Team honors while leading Morrisville State to its first conference championship title and bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Davis is the first player in the history of Morrisville State to receive such an honor from the NABC.

The sophomore is a graduate of Jamesville-Dewitt High, and is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. He is the son of Margaret and Mickey Davis of Jamesville.
