Visiting Hartwick College field hockey scored three unanswered goals in the second half to post the 4-3 come from behind victory over Morrisville State College Wednesday afternoon in Morrisville.

Morrisville State drops to 0-7 overall while Hartwick improves to 3-6.

Morrisville State led 2-1 at the half and held a one goal lead midway through the second period before Hartwick tallied for two straight tallies within a 10 minute span to claim the victory.

Morrisville State was first to fire one into the back of the cage, as Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) rifled a corner pass from Stephanie Stahl (Greene, NY) past Hartwick keeper Megan Campbell just 11 minutes in.

Holley Reynolds evened the contest for the Hawks at 19:53 with a tip on a center cross from Hillary Carlson.

Nearly four minutes later, Anderson intercepted a Hawk pass at the 25 yard line and carried the ball down the center of the circle, posting her second tally of the day to regain the lead for the Mustangs heading into the break.

The second half proved to be a back and forth contest, as Abby Wentlent evened the contest for the Hawks on a penalty corner just three minutes into the period, before Morrisville State's Joanna Tritto (West Babylon, NY) regained the lead for the Mustangs with a sweep in the center of the circle just three minutes later.

Carlson brought the Hawks even for the third time at the 45 minute mark, before Wentlent posted the game winner on a shot from the top of the circle on a penalty corner opportunity at 55:28.

The Mustangs put pressure on the Hartwick defense, but Campbell turned away four of her game total eight, in the closing minutes to secure the non-conference victory.

Laura Blumenfeld (Rockland, NY) saved seven in the loss for the Mustangs.

Morrisville State returns to the field Friday, hosting Vassar College at 4 p.m. on Drake Field on the Morrisville campus.
