Howland claims third at IHSA Western National Championships

Morrisville State College western rider, Catherine Howland (Rutlandtown, VT) capped off a stellar riding season with a top five finish in three class competitions over the weekend at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Western National Championships held in Raleigh, North Carolina.



Howland claimed third place overall in the open individual reining class and followed with a fifth place finish in open individual horsemanship.



In the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) High Point Rider Competition, Howland garnered 121 total points in two classes (HP Horsemanship and HP Reining) to place third overall in a class that featured the top 24 high point riders from across the nation.



Amy Meyer (Equinunk, PA) also represented Morrisville State at the National Championships, taking home honorable mention honors in the intermediate individual horsemanship class.
