Hunt, Townsley lead Morrisville State cross country teams at SUNY IT Wildcat Invitational

Sophomore Amanda Hunt (Tunkhannock, P.A.) and senior Austin Townsley (Horseheads, N.Y.) were top finishers for the Morrisville State College women’s and men’s cross country teams at the SUNY IT Wildcat Cross Country Invitational, Saturday in Utica.

Hunt finished 22nd overall with a time of 22:42 to lead the women’s team to a ninth place team finish. Celine Eppolito (North Collins, N.Y.) was the next Mustang to cross the finish line, placing 41st with a time of 24:18. Evelia Hehir (Washingtonville, N.Y.), Cassie Dunbar (Verona, N.Y.) and Jalisa Aydelo (Hempstead, N.Y.) rounded out team scoring, finishing 48th, 83rd and 124th respectively.

Townsley led the men’s team to a seventh place finish overall, crossing in 25th place with a time of 21:35. Anthony Ostuni (Liverpool, N.Y.) finished in 42nd  with a time of 22:28 with Ethan Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.), Austin Hirsch (Morrisville, N.Y.) and Ben Sargrad (Manlius, N.Y.) rounding out team scoring with 45th, 52nd and 54th place finishes, respectively.

Morrisville State is on the road at the SUNY Oswego Invitational on Saturday, September 8.
