Hunt, Townsley lead Morrisville State cross country teams at SUNY Oswego Invitational

Sophomore Amanda Hunt (Tunkhannock, P.A.) and senior Austin Townsley (Horseheads, N.Y.) were top finishers for the Morrisville State College women’s and men’s cross country teams at the SUNY Oswego Cross Country Invitational, Saturday in Oswego.

Hunt finished 51st overall out of 128 runners with a time of 21:15.5 to lead the women’s team to an eighth place team finish. Evelia Hehir (Washingtonville, N.Y.) was the next Mustang to cross the finish line, placing 62nd with a time of 21:45.1. Celine Eppolito (North Collins, N.Y.), Cassie Dunbar (Verona, N.Y.) and Victoria Lanquah (Bronx, N.Y.) rounded out team scoring, finishing 78th, 106th and 121st respectively.

Townsley led the men’s team to an eighth place finish overall, crossing in 45th place with a time of 28:18.5. Anthony Ostuni (Liverpool, N.Y.) finished in 56th  with a time of 28:48.8 with Austin Hirsch (Morrisville, N.Y.), Shawn Okula (Medford, N.Y.) and Ben Sargrad (Manlius, N.Y.) rounding out team scoring with 74th, 77th and 89th place finishes, respectively.

Morrisville State is on the road at the Penn State Abington Invitational on Saturday, September 15.
