Sophomore defenseman, James Jarvis (Pickering, Ont.) posted the lone tally for visiting Morrisville State College men's hockey as they dropped a 3-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) decision to third nationally ranked Plattsburgh Saturday night in Plattsburgh.

Morrisville State fell to 3-14-1 overall, 2-7-1 in conference play, while Plattsburgh improved to 12-2-4, 7-1-1 in the SUNYAC.

Plattsburgh lit the lamp for the first time 45 seconds before the end of the first period, as Jared Docking knocked the puck past Morrisville State net minder Colin Breen (Waterloo, Ont.) for the 1-0 lead.

The Cardinals found the back of the net twice in the second, the first coming 6:08 into the period on a tally by Patrick Jobb and another 10 minutes later from Nick Jensen.

Jarvis was able to prevent the shut out, converting the first of six power play opportunities in the contest, with just 13 seconds remaining on the clock. Todd Hosmer (Scarborough, Ont.) and Jamie Nelson (Stratford, Ont.) were credited with the assists.

Breen turned away 40 on the night for the Mustangs, recording the loss, as Plattsburgh held the 43-15 advantage in shots on goal.

Mathieu Cadieux made 14 saves in the win for Plattsburgh.

Morrisville State is on the road again Friday at SUNY Fredonia.
