Keuka hands Morrisville State women first conference loss

Visiting Keuka College women's lacrosse posted 10 first half goals and added four more in the second, en route to a 14-4 conference victory over Morrisville State College Sunday afternoon in Morrisville.



Morrisville State falls to 5-6 overall, 5-1 in conference action, while Keuka improves to 8-1, and remains undefeated in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) West play at 6-0.



Keuka jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Morrisville State's Hillary Hartnett (Fairport, NY) answered with her first of the afternoon. The Storm posted three more to the Mustangs one, and then closed out the half with four straight for the 10-2 lead at the break.



Keuka forced 11 second half turnovers and allowed just two Mustang goals en route to the win.



Hartnett recorded all four scores for Morrisville State on the day, as Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, Ontario) tallied an assist.



Allison Strub (Clifton Springs, NY) posted 11 saves in net and the loss for the Mustangs.



Brandy Shafer (Rochester, NY) led Keuka with four goals and two assists, while teammates Jennifer Bush (Endwell, NY), Taylor Smith (Webster, NY), Brittany Murray (Heuvelton, NY) and Tatiana Pena (Hicksville, NY) added two apiece.



Molly Hogan (Horseheads, NY) recorded the win for the Storm, saving four.



Morrisville State returns to the field Thursday, hosting Cazenovia College at 4 p.m. on Drake Field.
