Lewis leads Morrisville State men's laxers in 8-7 victory over Brockport

Senior attackman Adam Lewis (Painted Post, NY) posted four goals and an assist, including the game winning tally, as Morrisville State men's lacrosse handed visiting The College at Brockport the 8-7 non-conference loss Saturday afternoon in Morrisville.



Morrisville State improves to 2-0 on the season, while Brockport drops to 0-3.



Tied at two after one quarter, Lewis tallied the lone score of the quarter to give Morrisville State the 3-2 lead at the half.



In the third, Brockport tallied five unanswered scores, including three in the final 3:04, for the 7-5 advantage heading into the final quarter.



Lewis brought the Mustangs to within one at the 12:21 mark with an unassisted tally, and found an open Chris Soprano (Rochester, NY) with 6:32 remaining to even the contest at seven.



Seconds after a Brockport slashing penalty, Lewis collected his own rebound and put the game winner past Golden Eagle keeper Jon Fiorillo (Painted Post, NY), for the win.



Fiorillo had 13 saves in the loss.



Brandon Macera (Chittenango, NY), Thomas Owens (Cazenovia, NY), and Kevin Wilkerson (Nedrow, NY) each tallied a goal for the Mustangs, with Macera and Owens adding an assist. Andrew Stein (Oswego, NY) assisted two.



Michael Hinchey (Lake Katrine, NY) had 13 saves in the win for Morrisville State.



Matt Andon-McLane (Syracuse, NY) netted two goals and assisted another to lead Brockport's effort as five teammates contributed added one each.



Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday, traveling to Alfred University.
