Morrisville State College athletic director, Greg Carroll, and head field hockey coach, Rebecca Osier, announced the addition of Melissa Lomanto as assistant coach of the program for the fall 2011 season.

Lomanto comes to Morrisville from Adrian College where she served as the head women's ice hockey coach for the past three seasons, leading the team to the league championship in 2011 while being the first women's team in the history of the college to participate in the NCAA tournament.

Prior to Adrian, Lomanto spent three seasons as the assistant women's hockey coach at Utica College.

Lomanto currently serves as a coach/evaluator with USA Hockey and is an instructor with Blueline Hockey at the Morrisville State IcePlex.

Earning her bachelor of science degree in health studies in May 2006 from Utica College of Syracuse University, Lomanto enjoyed an outstanding four-year career as a member of the women's ice hockey program, earning ECAC West second team All-Conference honors for three consecutive seasons, and All-Rookie Team honors as a freshman.
