Martocello named NEAC Rookie of the Year

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its Men's Lacrosse All-Conference and individual award selections, naming Morrisville State College's freshman attack, Jack Martocello (Miller Place, N.Y.) the 2012 Rookie of the Year.



Morrisville State posted a 10-3 regular season record, and finished atop the conference with a perfect 7-0 record for the third straight season, behind a stellar freshman campaign from Martocello.



Martocello tallied 26 goals and added five assists in 13 regular season contests for the Mustangs, while collecting 27 ground balls and caused four turnovers in 13 games this season. One of his scores was a game winner, and another a man-up tally.



Martocello posted a game high four goals three times this season, including in the conference victories over Medaille and Cazenovia. He currently ranks 10th overall in the conference in goals scored.



The graduate of Miller Place High is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. He is the son of Irene and Steve Martocello of Miller Place.
