Men's soccer dominates SUNY IT 3-0

Morrisville State College men’s soccer scored with four minutes remaining in the first half and twice in the first 12 minutes of the second half to beat SUNY IT 3-0 in conference play on Saturday afternoon.

Karim Ouedraogo (Burkina Faso) scored his first goal of his collegiate career when he beat Wildcats goalkeeper, Malick Faye to a 50/50 ball, giving the Mustangs the lead at 41:10.

Morrisville State came out firing in the second half and quickly took a 2-0 lead when Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, M.D.) received a perfectly placed pass from Jacob Chase (Cooperstown, N.Y.) that Pierre-Louis shot past Faye at 50:17. Just

under six minutes later Pierre-Louis and Chase teamed up again to finish up the scoring on the day, giving the Mustangs the 3-0 victory.

Malick Faye suffered the loss for SUNY IT, tallying seven saves while Rob Larkin (Clinton, N.Y.) came away with the win and records his first shutout of his collegiate career.  

Morrisville State improves to 3-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC).

The Mustangs are back in action on Tuesday, September 18th as they travel to play conference opponent SUNY Cobleskill at 4pm.
