Morrisville State College awards four students scholarships

Four Morrisville State College students have been awarded the American Hotel and Lodging Association Scholarship (AHLEF).



The AHLEF scholarships are awarded to sophomore students based on academic performance, hospitality work experience, extracurricular involvement, financial need and personal attributes.



Receiving $1,000 scholarships were the following resort & recreation service management: technology management students: Jessica Croop, of Whitney Point, NY, Alaina Stein, of Rochester, NY, and Eric Fox of DeRuyter, NY. Also receiving the scholarship was travel and tourism: hospitality management student, Kristen Offringa, of Grahamsville, NY.



Croop, Offringa and Stein are members of the International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA). Stein, is also member of Eta Sigma Delta, a worldwide student hospitality honor society.



Offringa, who serves as the IFSEA president, is also a member of the student government organization (SGO) and is an admissions ambassador. Additionally, she serves on the budget information committee and was named to Pi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.



MSC is an affiliate member of the AHLEF.
