Morrisville State falls short, drops 11-9 contest to Alfred

The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse team fell short Wednesday night, dropping an 11-9 decision to Alfred University in Alfred.



The loss is Morrisville State's first of the season (2-1). Alfred remains undefeated at 5-0.



Alfred led 9-4 heading into the fourth quarter before the Mustangs rallied for five unanswered tallies in the final stance, but fell short as the Saxons collected the non-conference win.



Brandon Macera (Chittenango, NY) led the Mustangs with two goals and an assist, while teammates Thomas Owens (Cazenovia, NY), Mike McGinnis (Syracuse, NY) and Kevin Wilkerson (Nedrow, NY) contributed two a piece. Devin Maxwell (Culver City, CA) rounded out Morrisville State scoring with a one.



Michael Hinchey (Lake Katrine, NY) recorded the loss in net, saving eight.



Stefan Debkowski led the Saxons with six scores.



Morrisville State returns to the field Tuesday, traveling to Potsdam on the 22nd.
