Morrisville State field hockey drops 2-1 overtime decision to University of Rochester

The Morrisville State College field hockey team dropped a 2-1 overtime non-conference decision to host University of Rochester Friday night in Rochester, falling to 8-9 overall on the season.



Playing to a scoreless first half, Morrisville State's Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) posted the first score of the afternoon, settling a loose ball on a penalty corner play for a score into the left lower corner of the net in the 54th minute.



Allison Beardsley responded for Rochester, netting the equalizer less than eight minutes later on a penalty corner scramble.



Four and a half minutes into the sudden victory overtime period, Beardsley struck again lifting Rochester to the 2-1 victory.



Kelsey Pellegrino (Cicero, NY) recorded 15 saves in the loss for the Mustangs as Rochester held the 28-3 advantage in shots and 18-3 advantage in penalty corners.



Madison Wagner earned the win in net, making two stops.



Morrisville State returns to the field Saturday, hosting Houghton College at 1 p.m. on Drake Field.
