Morrisville State hockey defeats SUNY Brockport, 2-1

The Morrisville State College hockey team defeated SUNY Brockport in the final State University of New York Athletic Conference game of the season Saturday night, 2-1.



The Mustangs ended the season 5-17-1, 4-10-1 SUNYAC while the Golden Eagles were 9-13-3, 5-9-2 SUNYAC.



SUNY Brockport scored the only goal in the opening period of the game which was scored by Steve Sachman and assisted by Troy Polino.



One minute into third period Todd Hosmer (Scarborough, ONT) scored the first Mustang goal assisted by James Jarvis (Pickering, ONT). The winning goal was scored on a power-play with only eight seconds left in the game. Daniel Morello (Vaughan, ONT) shot the puck into the back of the net, Hosmer had the assist.



Colin Breen (Waterloo, ONT) recorded the win between the pipes with 44 saves.



After the conclusion of the game seniors, Tom Longland (Dunnville, ONT), Jonathan Cristini (Mississauga, ONT), Geoff Matzel (Chittenango, NY) and Hosmer were honored.
