Morrisville State hunt seat team regional runner-ups; three advance to Zone Championships

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team advanced three riders in four classes to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone Championships following competition on Saturday at the Regional Championships in Saratoga Springs.



Morrisville State finished second overall as a team in regional competition.



Morrisville State crowned two regional champions, including Teal Pedersen (Manorville, NY) in the intermediate equitation on the flat class and Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) in the walk trot class.



Pedersen also finished in second in the intermediate equitation over fences class to advance to the zone championships, along with Kathryn Galyon (Pearl River, NY) who placed second in the walk trot canter class.



Additional place winners for the Mustangs were: Jill Featherly (Hilton, NY) eighth in open flat; Rachel Kenney (Esperance, NY) seventh in novice fences and third in novice flat; Katie Northrop (Brighton, NY) fourth in novice flat; Renee Petruzzelli (Clifton Springs, NY) and Katherine Irace (Goshen, NY) third and fourth, respectively, in the walk trot canter class.



The top three riders from each class at the Zone Championships will advance to the IHSA National Championship Show held in May.



Zones are scheduled for Saturday, April 9th at St. Lawrence University.
