Morrisville State men cruise over Route 20 rival Cazenovia, 96-63

The Morrisville State College men's basketball team posted their fifth straight victory Sunday afternoon, rolling to a 96-63 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over Route 20 rival Cazenovia College in Morrisville.



The win boosts Morrisville State to 11-11 overall, 9-7 in conference play, while Cazenovia drops to 4-18, 4-13 in NEAC action.



The Mustangs led 42-32 at the break before exploding in the second half, hitting 9-of-13 from behind the arc while posting 54 points en route to the win.



Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) and Brandon Hanks (Syracuse, NY) paced Morrisville State with 17 points and combined for 15 assists, with Hanks netting 15 in the second half, hitting 4-of-4 from downtown.



Kyle Gordon (Riverhead, NY) added 16, three from behind the arc, and grabbed eight rebounds while teammate Dwayne Wade (Beacon, NY) netted 10 and dished out six assists. Londel Lennon (Hartford, CT) had nine points, leading the Mustangs with 11 boards.



Cazenovia had hot shooting from Bryant Winans (Afton, NY) who tallied 23 points in the efforts for the Wildcats, nailing five three's and 4-of-4 from the charity line. Cameron Smith (Honeoye Falls, NY) and Darnell Sampson (Syracuse, NY) each added 10 in the loss, as Robert Rohrig (Ludlow, VT) controlled the boards with 12.



Morrisville State shot 53 percent from the floor in the contest, while Cazenovia managed to hit 35 percent of shots.



The Mustangs return to the court Wednesday at SUNY IT for a 7 p.m. tip-off. Cazenovia is on the road at Cobleskill.
