Morrisville State men net 4-1 victory over Gallaudet

Junior forward Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, MD) scored twice to lead the Morrisville State College men's soccer team to a 4-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Sunday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville.



Morrisville State improves to 3-7-3 overall, 3-3-2 in conference play, while Gallaudet continues to look for their first victory, posting an overall 0-11 record, 0-7 in NEAC action.



Gilroy Alvarez (Guatemala) and Joey Plummer (Gates, NY) tallied a score a piece for the Mustangs, while Shane Sullivan (Sherrill, NY) earned the win in net.



Pierre-Louis put Morrisville State on the board in the 26th minute, collecting the rebound off his initial shot and firing it past Gallaudet keeper, Eric Setzer, for the score.



Seconds before the end of the first half, Karlis Intsons evened the score for the Bisons, chipping the fast break tally over the head of Sullivan to send the contest into the break knotted at one.



Early in the second senior Scott Morris (Elizabethtown, NY) crossed the ball into the box and connected with Pierre-Louis for the go ahead tally in the 52nd minute.



Alvarez extended the lead to two on a one touch cross from Matt Doran (Marathon, NY) within the goal box at 69:41 before Plummer secured the win for the Mustangs with a goal from the top of the box in the 79th minute. Chernor Barrie (Bronx, NY) recorded the assist.



Sullivan played 74:10 in goal before being replaced by Trevor Goldstein for the final 15:50.



Setzer recorded the loss in net, making 15 stops and allowing three goals before Jordan Ramser finished the game, allowing one goal.



Morrisville State returns to the field Wednesday at D'Youville College.
