Morrisville State men net 4-2 victory over St. Michaels

Junior forward Geoff Matzel (Chittenango, NY) scored twice to lead Morrisville State men's ice hockey in a come from behind 4-2 victory over St. Michael's College at the St. Michael's Holiday Classic Sunday afternoon in South Burlington, Vermont.



Morrisville State trailed 2-0 after 18 minutes of play before Matzel put a short handed score into the back of the net at 18:48 for the Mustangs first tally of the afternoon.



Just 47 seconds into the second period, Matzel evened the contest at two, before Tyler Swan (Barrie, ONT) gave Morrisville State the one goal advantage in the 11th minute firing the power play score past the St. Michael net minder.



Jonathan Cristini (Mississauga, ONT) added the final Morrisville State tally 7:45 into the third period.



Colin Breen (Waterloo, ONT) earned the win in net, saving 31, as Morrisville State improves to 6-4-1 overall.



Junior defenseman, Tom Longland (Dunnville, ONT) was named to the All-Tournament Team, tallying a goal and two assists for Morrisville State in the tournament.



Morrisville State returns to the ice Sunday, January 9th at Manhattanville.
