Morrisville State men's lacrosse defeats Wells College, 12-4

The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse team defeated visiting Wells College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) matchup Friday afternoon, 12-4.



The Mustangs are now 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference while Wells drops to 3-5, 1-2.



Devin Maxwell (Culver City, Cal.) led the Mustangs scoring three goals and adding one assist while Kevin Wilkerson (Nedrow, N.Y.) and Andrew Stein (Oswego, N.Y.) had two goals apiece. Stein and Dean Priest (Hinesburg, VT) each had two assists. Stein grabbed seven groundballs in the game while Priest and Joseph Chazen (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each picked up five. Tom Longland (Dunnville, ONT) grabbed four groundballs and caused four turnovers while Michael Hinchey (Lake Katrine, N.Y) had seven saves between the pipes for the Mustangs.



The Express was led by Daniel Munsell and Nicholas Dolan who each scored two goals. Forrest Lambert grabbed six groundballs while Munsell, Hayden Shuster and Luke Thomas each picked up four groundballs. Christopher Galluzzo had 23 saves in goal for the Express.



Morrisville dominated the Express in groundballs 47-29 and in shots 51-23. The Mustangs controlled 16 of 20 faceoffs including all five in the final quarter.



The Mustangs return to the field Tuesday at SUNY IT at 7 p.m. They return home Wednesday to face Penn State Abington at 4 p.m. on Drake Field.
