Morrisville State men's lacrosse selected for ECAC Championship

The Morrisville State College men's lacrosse team has earned a spot in the 2011 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship, announced Monday afternoon.



The tournament is a two-region, five-team bracket.



Morrisville State is the #3 seed in the West Region and will face #2 seed Hartwick College on Wednesday at Wright Stadium at Hartwick College. Face-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. The winner will advance to play top seed Marywood on Saturday at Western New England College.



Morrisville State is making its second straight appearance in the ECAC Championships, entering the tournament in 2011 with a 12-4 overall record, claiming the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) regular season title for a second season, with a perfect 6-0 record.



Hartwick enters the contest with an 8-8 overall record, making its 14th appearance in the ECAC Tournament in program history.



The two teams have met twice before in the history of the two programs, with the Hawks recording both victories by 17-5 and 18-3 margins.



Western New England earned the tournament's #1 seed in the East Region, and will face second seed Mitchell College on Saturday in the semi-final round.



Ticket prices for the Morrisville State-Hartwick game are $5 for general admission, and $2 for high school students and Morrisville State students with valid college ID. Children 12 and under are free.

First Round – Wednesday, May 11 at Hartwick

West Region: #3 Morrisville State (12-4) vs. #2 Hartwick College (8-8) 6 p.m.



Semi-Final Round – Saturday, May 14 at Western New England

West Region: Morrisville/Hartwick vs. #1 Marywood (11-6) 4 p.m.

East Region: #2 Mitchell (9-3) vs. #1 Western New England (14-5) 7:30 p.m.



Championship – Sunday, May 15 at Western New England

Semi-final winners 1 p.m.
