Avary McKinney (Rochester, N.Y.) posted the lone score for the Express, netting the tally off an initial centering pass from Courtney Bastian (West Winfield, N.Y.) with just over three minutes remaining in the first half.

Nearly midway through the second, Morrisville State’s Paige Jerrett (Parish, N.Y.) ignited the Mustang attack on cage, netting the sweeping score off a wide shot attempt from Taylor Fields (Schuylerville, N.Y.), to even the contest at one.

Within minutes, Angerer gave Morrisville State their first lead of the day, gathering the ball off a save by Wells keeper Cassi Greene (Martville, N.Y.) and firing it into the left side of the net for the 2-1 advantage.

Angerer struck again at the 66:52 mark for her second score of the day, sweeping the center pass from Kissandra Blaiser (Canastota, N.Y.) into the back of the cage, for the 3-1 cushion and eventual win.

Wells attempted to put together a rally late in the half, but was turned away as Morrisville State goalie Ellen DePasquale (Vernon, N.Y.) turned away two of her game total five saves down the stretch.

Greene recorded the loss in net for Wells, stopping seven.
