The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced the winners of the 2011-2012 President’s Cup during the conference’s annual spring meeting this week, with Morrisville State College claiming the men’s cup for the first time in the history of the program.

Each President’s Cup is awarded based on the institution’s overall winning percentage from the entire academic year, and is calculated through a points system that takes into account each school’s final regular season standings for team sports and championship finish for individual sports within conference competition.

Morrisville State compiled a .784 winning percentage for the year, accumulating 29 out of a possible 37 points to finish atop the men’s standings after claiming regular season titles in both basketball and lacrosse this season. Cross country registered a third place overall finish at the championship in the fall.

The Mustangs were fourth in the overall cup standings with a win percentage of .621, and finished ninth in the women’s cup standings with a winning percentage of .517.
