Morrisville State women dominate St. Elizabeth for 80-65 conference victory

The Morrisville State College women's basketball team picked up their first victory of the 2010-2011 season, dominating host College of St. Elizabeth for the 80-65 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win Saturday afternoon in Morristown, New Jersey.



Morrisville State raced out to a 44-29 halftime lead, shooting a season best 61.3 percent from the floor in the first, heading into the locker room with three already in double digits.



In the second, the Mustangs led by as many as 21 before the Soaring Eagles chipped away to make it a 15 point final.



Four netted double figures for Morrisville State, led by Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) with 23 points and nine rebounds. Nijee Scott (Bronx, NY) added 20 points, seven boards and five assists, posting four steals, while teammate Simoine Rogers (Bronx, NY) contributed 17 points, seven boards, seven assists and five steals. Jenna March (Munnsville, NY) posted 10 points for the Mustangs.



Morrisville State improves to 1-4 overall, 1-2 in NEAC action, and return to the floor Wednesday at SUNY Cobleskill.
