Morrisville State women drop 60-41 decision to SUNY IT

Visiting Morrisville State College women's basketball dropped a 60-41 decision to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent SUNY IT Wednesday afternoon in Marcy.



The loss drops the Mustangs to 2-9 overall, 1-3 in NEAC play, while SUNY IT improves to 9-2 overall.



Lyndsey Brognano led all scorers, netting 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for the Wildcats while Abbey Hanehan added 17 points, seven boards, and Ashley Schmidt 10 points in the win.



Nijah Townsend (Bronx, N.Y.) posted a team high 15 points and 14 rebounds for Morrisville State, while Nijee Scott (Bronx, N.Y.) added nine points and Jennel Paul (Brooklyn, N.Y.) eight points and 13 rebounds to the Mustang efforts.



Morrisville State struggled from the floor in the first half, hitting a mere 5-of-23 shots from the floor, as SUNY IT claimed the 26-10 advantage at the break.



The Mustangs were able to cut the Wildcat lead to seven early in the second half, but SUNY IT regained control of the contest and collected the victory.



Morrisville State returns to the court Saturday, traveling to Lancaster Bible College for a 3 p.m. tip.
