Morrisville State women drop contest to Harrisburg, 74-59

Visiting Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball hit six three's and forced 13 Mustang turnovers in the first half en route to a 74-59 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest Saturday afternoon in Morrisville.



Morrisville State shot just 20.7 percent from the floor in the first half while Harrisburg raced out to a 44-24 lead at the break. In the second half, the Mustangs attempted a comeback attempt, but fell short as the Nittany Lions collected the win.



Three were in double figures for the Mustangs, led by Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Nijee Scott (Bronx, NY) added 14 points and seven boards, stealing three, while teammate LaQuiesha Jenkins (Syracuse, NY) added 12, hitting two from behind the arc and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.



Amanda Moyer (Carlisle, PA) and Monet Cunningham each tallied 15 to lead Harrisburg in the win, with Moyer adding 10 rebounds for the double-double. Miranda Zeanchock (Carrolltown, PA) contributed 13 points and grabbed nine boards, as Daril Foose (Altoona, PA) chipped in 11, while assisting six.



Morrisville State drops to 3-13 overall, 3-11 in conference action and returns to the court tomorrow at noon, hosting nationally ranked (20) Gallaudet University.



Penn State Harrisburg improves to 12-5 overall, 11-3 in the NEAC, and is on the road at Cazenovia tomorrow afternoon.
