The Morrisville State women’s basketball team got off to a rocky start Tuesday night, and could not recover, as they dropped a 59-36 non-conference contest to host Bard College.

The loss drops the Mustangs to 2-7 overall, as they look to rebound from the loss Thursday, hosting Penn College of Technology.

Jennel Paul (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Morrisville State efforts, netting a team high 14 points and seven rebounds, adding two assists and a steal to her tallies on the night. Jordan Anderson (West Edmeston, N.Y.) added eight points and two steals in the Mustang efforts.

Morrisville State shot a mere 25% from the floor on 13-of-52 shooting.

Bard held the 27-19 lead at the break, before outscoring the Mustangs 32-17 in the second half for the non-conference victory.

Morrisville State hosts Penn College at 1 p.m. in the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities Gymnasium on Thursday.
