Morrisville State women fall 64-45 to NEAC opponent Penn State Berks

The Morrisville State College women's basketball team made a second half comeback attempt but fell 64-45 to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Penn State Berks Saturday afternoon in Morrisville.



LaQuiesha Jenkins (Syracuse, NY) led the Mustangs comeback attempt in the second half, hitting three straight from behind the arc to pull Morrisville State within 11, but Berks hit key free throws to seal the victory.



Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) tallied 19 points and grabbed 13 boards to lead Morrisville State in the loss, as Jenkins contributed 11 points and eight rebounds to the Mustangs efforts.



Penn State Berks Emily Pufnock had 18 to lead the Nittany Lions, with Taylor Kreider adding 15 with a team high 10 boards.



Morrisville State (2-7, 2-5 NEAC) returns to the court tomorrow, hosting Penn State Abington at noon.
