Morrisville State women fall to SUNYIT, 86-63

Morrisville State College women’s basketball fell in the season finale 86-63 to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent and host SUNYIT Saturday afternoon in Marcy.

The Mustangs complete the season with a 1-24 overall record, 1-16 in conference action. SUNY IT improves to 14-8 overall.

LaCandice Sanders (Waco, Texas) led the Morrisville State efforts with a best 21  points, hitting 6-of-10 from long range, while dishing out three assists, while teammate Queen Holquin (Bronx, N.Y.) added 10 points. Akiella Parks (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) collected a team high nine rebounds to go along with her seven points, four boards on the offensive glass.

Four posted double figures for the Wildcats including Kayla McNeil with 21 and Ashley Schmidt with 19. Lyndsay Brognano added 16 with Abbey Hanahan netting 11, while grabbing a team high 13 boards for the double-double. Hanehan also had eight assists on the day.

SUNYIT led 45-28 at the break.
