Morrisville State women's basketball halted by visiting Wells College, 70-58

The Morrisville State College women's basketball team suffered their first defeat in four games, as Wells College topped the Mustangs 70-58 Wednesday evening in a conference matchup.



The Mustangs are now 5-11 overall and 4-5 in Northeastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play, while Wells College stands at 5-11 and 3-5 in NEAC play.



Tierra Hollins-Hill (Bronx, NY) led the Mustangs with a collegiate best 23 points shooting 4-of-8 from beyond the arc and adding two rebounds. Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) added 16 points and nine rebounds on the night. Dyshea Smiley (Harlem, NY) led the team with seven assists.



Two tallied double figures for the Wells College Express including Ashley Roser who had 25 points and 16 rebounds while making 13-of-16 free throws, as Jordan Peterson added 20 points.



The Mustangs trailed by eight points going into halftime and came out rolling, scoring 13 points in the first 10 minutes of the second half. But the Express rallied to seal the win, netting 20 points in the final 10 minutes of play.



Morrisville State College is back in action Saturday when the travel to Cazenovia College for a conference matchup at 3 p.m.
