Morrisville State women's lacrosse falls to Oswego State, 16-11

The Morrisville State College women's lacrosse team lost to visiting Oswego State Lakers Saturday afternoon, by a 16-11 final in Morrisville.



The Mustangs are now 1-3 overall while the Lakers improve to 2-0.



Hillary Hartnett (Fairport, NY) led Morrisville with four goals while Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, NY) chipped in three goals and an assist. Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, ONT) grabbed five ground balls for the Mustangs while Alison Falkenburgh (Bayport, NY) had four. Danielle Puzio (Holbrook, NY) posted nine saves in goal for the Mustangs.



The Lakers were led by Rachael Raffa who posted seven goals and added four ground balls, while Erin Cummings netted three goals and three assists. Courtney Cosentino grabbed three ground balls for Oswego as Ashlee Engel recorded the win between the pipes, stopping 18.



Morrisville edged the Lakers in ground balls 29-21 and also in shots 37-29. The Mustangs were held scoreless for 21 minutes in the second half, while the Lakers posted six unanswered goals.



The Mustangs return to the field tomorrow to take on Potsdam at noon on Drake Field.
