Morrisville State women's lax drops fourth straight

The Morrisville State College women's lacrosse team dropped their fourth straight contest of the 2011 season Wednesday afternoon, falling 23-10 in non-conference action to host SUNY Potsdam in Potsdam.



Morrisville State is 0-4 on the season.



Potsdam quickly set the pace for the game, recording the first six goals of the contest with in a 10 minute time span, before Morrisville State's Hillary Hartnett (Fairport, NY) was able to put one on the board for the Mustangs. Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, ONT) added the second Morrisville State score midway through the period, and Hartnett put in a third, but Potsdam posted five more goals to claim the 11-3 lead at the half.



In the second half, Morrisville State was able to put seven in the back of the net, but Potsdam added 12 of their own to claim the 23-10 non-conference win.



Hartnett led Morrisville State with six goals on the afternoon, while Edmondson tallied two. Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) and Jennifer May (Rochester, NY) each added one to round out Mustang scoring.



Allison Strub (Midlakes, NY) recorded the loss in net, saving nine.



Morrisville State returns to the field Saturday, opening North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on the road at the College of St. Elizabeth.
