Morrisville State women's laxers remain undefeated in conference, dominate Wells 17-8

The Morrisville State College women's lacrosse team lit up the scoreboard in the second half, cruising to a 17-8 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) West victory over visiting Wells College Friday night in Morrisville.

The win pulls the Mustangs to 5-5 overall, as they remain undefeated in conference action with a 5-0 record. Wells College drops to 6-5 overall, and 4-1 in NAC action.



Morrisville State led 6-4 at the break before exploding for seven straight scores over the Express for the commanding 13-4 lead just 10 minutes into the second. Both teams traded scores for the remainder of the period.



Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) led the Mustangs with a team high six goals, while teammate Hillary Hartnett (Fairport, NY) accounted for five. Alison Falkenburgh (Bayport, NY) added three, assisting another, while Lesa Ward (South Glens Falls, NY) posted two tallies and Jennifer May (Rochester, NY) one.



Allison Strub (Clifton Spring, NY) recorded seven saves in the win.



Courtney Grosser (Penfield, NY) led the Express with three scores, while Sarah Allen (Clay, NY) and Stefanie Miller (Barton, NY) each tallied two. Kendra Francis (Hooper, Utah) netted one.



Elizabeth Barclay (Laporte, PA) recorded the loss in net, saving 16 as the Mustangs out shot the Express 38-25.



Morrisville State returns to the field Sunday, hosting Keuka College at 1 p.m.
