Morrisville State women's soccer drop game to Lancaster Bible College 5-0

The Morrisville State College women's soccer team fell to Lancaster Bible College 5-0 Friday night in Morrisville. The team's overall record falls to 0-2, while their conference record is now 0-1.



After a scoreless first half, Lancaster Bible took the lead with a goal off of a header from Whitney Heise (Danville, P.A). Kathryn Ritter(Philipsburg, P.A.) recorded the assist with a well placed corner kick, which found Heise poised to head the ball past Mustangs goal keeper Jennifer Zidzik(Lambertville, N.J.). Monica Horning(Lititz, P.A.), unassisted, scored just over five minutes later to make the score 2-0.



Kristina Clairmont(Dublin, P.A.), assisted by Whitney Heise added a goal shortly after. Jenna Godwin (Fairfax, V.A.) added the final two goals for the Chargers off of direct kicks.



Mustangs' goalkeeper Jennifer Zidzik recorded the loss playing 71 minutes, saving 5 and allowing two goals against. Erin Bergold (Equinunk, P.A.) swapped places with Zidzik with 19 minutes left in the game, allowing only two goals into the net and saving two.



Chargers goalkeeper Emily Lloyd (Northumberland, P.A.) recorded the shut-out against Morrisville, playing 90 minutes and tallying two saves.



Morrisville State returns to action on Tuesday, September 13 at 6 p.m. against conference rival Cazenovia College.
