Morrisville State women's soccer drop game to Lancaster Bible College 9-0

The Morrisville State College women’s soccer team fell to Lancaster Bible College 9-0 Friday night in Lancaster. The team’s overall record falls to 0-2-1, while their conference record is now 0-1.



Lancaster Bible score three times in the first ten minutes of the game before going on to beat the Mustangs 9-0 in the opening weekend of conference play.

Monica Horning (Lititz, P.A.) scored her first of three on the day just 1:52 into the game after putting in a cross from Bethany Stein (Elizabethtown, P.A.). Whitney Heise(Danville, P.A.) struck next, putting a chip pass from Evelyn Stauffer (Lancaster, P.A.) into the top right corner just over a minute later. Horning and Heise scored the next two for Lancaster Bible at 7:44 and 16:09, respectively.

 

The Chargers took a 6-0 lead into halftime with Stein putting in two of her three goals in to finish out the first half.

Stein, Horning and Cheyenne Benson (Lancaster, P.A.) each added a goal in the second half, bringing the final score to 9-0.



Mustangs’ goalkeeper Jennifer Zidzik (Lambertville, N.J.) recorded the loss playing 69 minutes, saving 12 and allowing eight goals against. Courtney Purcell (Fabius, N.Y.) swapped places with Zidzik with 21 minutes left in the game, allowing the final goal and saving one.



Chargers goalkeeper Emily Lloyd (Northumberland, P.A.) recorded the shut-out against Morrisville, playing 90 minutes and tallying one save.



Morrisville State returns to action on Wednesday, September 12 at 4 p.m. against conference rival Cazenovia College.
