Morrisville State women's soccer struggles in season opener against Lyndon St, losing 0-7 as the Hornets scored three goals in the first half, and kept the lead throughout the game, scoring an additional four in the second half.



Both Emily Strese (Gilmanton, N.H.) and Michelle Wilcox (Sheldon, V.T.) tallied two goals for the Hornets, while Megan Phelps (Lyndonville, V.T.), Sarah Cornell(Lyndonville, V.T.), and Hilary Bonasera (Chelsea, V.T.) each added one.



Jennifer Zidzik (Yarley, P.A.) recorded the loss in net for the Mustangs, playing 75 minutes and saving three. Erin Bergold (Equinunk, P.A.) played the final 15 minutes and tallied two saves.



Lyndon State's Adele Zeh (Nunda, N.Y.) played all 90 minutes and recorded the win, tallying four saves.



The women's soccer team next faces Lancaster Bible College Friday, September 9, at 6 p.m. for their home opener on Drake Field.
