Morrisville State wrestling ninth at Ithaca Bomber Invitational

Morrisville State College posted 36.5 team points at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational over the weekend, placing ninth, in Ithaca.



Ithaca won the invitational with 191 points, followed by Centenary with 175.5 and Cortland with 156.5. Johnson and Wales followed with 110 points, Springfield with 104, Oswego 103.5, Stevens 67, New York University 50, Morrisville 36.5, Western New England 35, and Norwich 32.



Justin Delamothe (Cross River, NY) posted a 2-2 record at 125 pounds for Morrisville State, recording an opening round pin in 5:27.



At 133 Bill Latimer (Wurtsboro, NY) posted a 1-2 record, before Matt Gray (Philadelphia, NY) went 1-2 at 141 with a pin in 17 seconds. Also at 141 pounds, Dante Epps (Uniondale, NY) went 3-2 and Jay Concepcion (Sleepy Hollow, NY) 1-2.



Peyton Amato (Theresa, NY) and Josh Lear (Dexter, NY) each went 2-2 in the 149 pound weight class.



At 157, Goodson Phillipe (Brentwood, NY) went 1-2, while Jeremy Brodfuehrer (Canastota, NY) posted an 0-2 record.



Nate Cross (Hudson Falls, NY) recorded a 3-3 record en route to his sixth place finish in the 165 pound weight class, posting a major decision followed by a pin (2:13) in the championship round.



In the 174 pound weight class, Jeremy Hoyte (Hempstead, NY) went 1-2 before wrestlers Wheeler Brunschmid (Sherburne, NY), Adrian Montague (Uniondale, NY) and Brian Brodfuehrer (Canastota, NY) went 2-2, 1-2 and 0-2 respectively at 184 pounds.



Josue Cardenas (Port Chester, NY) went 2-2, and Nick Sullivan (Liverpool, NY) 0-2 at 197 pounds before Morrisville State wrapped up the invitational with a 2-2 record by Todd Hall (Athens, PA) in the heavyweight class. Henry Petry (Waverly, NY), Clarence Sharrock (Sleepy Hollow, NY) and Najee Mozie (Astoria, NY) were 0-2 for the Mustangs at heavyweight.



Morrisville State returns to the mats November 20 at Oneonta.
