Mustangs women's basketball team falls to SUNYIT 69-42

The Mustangs women's basketball team fell to the SUNYIT Wildcats 69-42 today in Morrisville.



Tied at 26 at the break, SUNYIT started the second half with a 15-2 run in the first six minutes of play, outscoring the Mustangs 43-16 in the final twenty.



Lyndsey Brognano (Rome, NY) led the Wildcats with 18 points, two assists, three rebounds and three steals. Following her led, teammate Taylor Topping (Bronx, NY) tallied 14 rebounds, 10 points and two steals.



Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) recorded 21 rebounds, 14 points and one block to lead the Mustangs. Teammate Nijee Scott (Bronx, NY) added 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists.



The Wildcats remain undefeated in NEAC play with a record of 5-0.



The Mustangs record drops to 2-4 in Conference play, 2-6 overall. Morrisville return to the court for back-to-back games on Jan. 8 and 9 to play Penn State Berks and Penn State Abington.
