O'Hara, Hosmer named Mustang Athletes of the Week

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named hunt seat rider, Keely O'Hara (Delphi Falls, NY) and men's ice hockey forward Todd Hosmer (Scarborough, ONT) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 13.



O'Hara led the hunt seat equestrian team to a third place finish on Saturday at the Mustang Invitational and to reserve high point team honors on Sunday, earning two second place ribbons while claiming the blue twice.



On Saturday, O'Hara placed second in the open equitation over fences class, and topped all riders in the afternoon, earning a blue ribbon in the open equitation on the flat. She repeated first place honors Sunday, topping all competition in the open fences class, before earning a second place in the open equitation on the flat class.



The freshman is majoring in equine science and management at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Suzanne McGowan and Deege O'Hara of Delphi Falls, New York.



Hosmer tallied three goals and an assist over the weekend as the Mustangs went 0-1-1. In the loss to Cortland on Friday, Hosmer scored two straight to force the overtime frame, including the game tying score in the third period. On Saturday, he assisted the first goal of the night and added a goal in the first period as the Mustangs played to an overtime draw against top nationally ranked SUNY Oswego.



Currently leading the team in scoring, Hosmer has tallied six goals and four assists for the Mustangs to date this season, and tops the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) ranks in goals scored and is second in the conference in points recorded (10).



The senior is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. He is the son of Debbie and Al Hosmer of Scarborough, Ontario.
