Powell earns NJAC Player of the Week honors

The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) office announced its football players of the week, naming Morrisville State College's wide receiver/kick return specialist Josh Powell (Yonkers, NY) the Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending November 5.



Powell averaged 42.7 yards per kickoff return in the Mustangs home finale against Buffalo State College on Saturday, returning three kickoffs for 128 total yards. One was an 84-yard return for a touchdown just 31 seconds into the first quarter, his first collegiate touchdown return of his collegiate career.



Powell currently leads the NJAC in kick returns, fielding 17 for 483-yards, an average of 28.4 yards per return.



The sophomore is majoring in casino and gaming management at Morrisville State. He is a 2010 graduate of Archbishop Stepanic High and is the son of Renee Powell and Jeffrey Ramsey.
