Puzio, Stein named Mustang Athletes of the Week

The Morrisville State College athletics department has named freshman Danielle Puzio (Holbrook, N.Y.) and senior Andrew Stein (Oswego, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 29.



Puzio posted a 2-0 record on the week in net for the women's lacrosse team, as they claimed the 2012 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) West Division Championship Title on Sunday. In tournament action, Puzio posted a total 26 saves in two games for a .565 save percentage, including six crucial stops in the overtime periods in the title contest.



The freshman is a graduate of Sachem East High and is majoring in sports, nutrition and fitness management at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Diane Staufenberg of Holbrook, New York.



Stein was instrumental to a 2-0 week for the men's lacrosse team, registering a total seven goals and three assists as Morrisville State clinched the regular season conference title with a perfect 7-0 record for the third straight season. He posted a season best five goals and two assists in the win over Hilbert, adding to his two goal, one assist performance against Cazenovia midweek.



The senior is a graduate of Oswego High and is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. He is the son of Phyllis and Robert Stein of Oswego.
