Relkoff records shut out in 4-0 win over Cortland

Senior goalie Caylin Relkoff (Grand Forks, BC/Huntsville Muskoka Otters) turned aside 25 shots and four different players scored goals as the Morrisville St. men's hockey team skated to a 4-0 win versus Cortland Friday night in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons fell to 5-16-2 overall and 4-9-1 in the conference. The Mustangs improved to 10-10-1 and 7-5-1.



Junior goalie Brittan Kuhlman (Omaha, NE/Winnipeg Saints) made 42 saves for the Red Dragons.



Senior Rob Sgarbossa (Campbellville, ON/Georgetown Raiders) led the Mustangs with a goal and an assist. Juniors Tom Longland (Dunville, ON/Pickering Panthers) and Geoff Matzel (Chittenango/National Sports Academy) and freshman Daniel Morello (Vaughan, ON/Vaughan Vipers) also scored goals, sophomore Rafal Plonski (Warsaw, Poland/Puget Sound Tomahawks) collected two assists and five other players chipped in with one assist apiece.

After a scoreless first period, Morrisville St. grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second. Morello scored from the right boards at seven minutes, 27 seconds, and Matzel netted a short-handed score at 17:22 on a one timer in front.



Longland made it a 3-0 game at 6:16 of the third period when his shot from the left point went through traffic and beat Kuhlman. Sgarbossa completed the scoring at 15:33 with a wrist shot from the slot.
