The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office has announced its weekly award winners, naming Morrisville State College's Austin Townsley (Horseheads, NY) the Co-Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 18.
This is the second time Townsley has been name NEAC Athlete of the Week for the 2011 season.
Townsley, a junior for the Mustangs, took first place overall out of 68 runners at the Hobart Cross Country Invitational this past Saturday, posting a time of 28:01 (5:37 mile pace) in the 8k run. His efforts guided the Morrisville State College men's cross country team to its first overall 1st place finish in over 30 years.
The Horseheads graduate is majoring in Information Technology – Network Administration at Morrisville State. He is the son of Mary and Fran Sherwood of Horseheads, New York.
