Walker, Macera named Mustang Athletes of the Week

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named softball first baseman, Kayla Walker (Oneida, NY) and men's lacrosse attack, Brandon Macera (Chittenango, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 24.



Walker went 10-for-23 from the plate on the week, leading Morrisville State to a 6-0 record, while scoring nine times and recording 13 RBI's. She posted a collegiate best performance in the 14-2 victory over Wells, hitting 3-for-4, including a grand slam, while tallying a high nine RBI's.



The sophomore is a graduate of Oneida High and is majoring in natural resources conservation at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Lisa and Reay Walker of Oneida.



Macera led the men's team to their fifth straight conference victory, netting five goals and two assists in the 19-5 win over Cazenovia.



The junior is a graduate of Chittenango High and is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. He is the son of Marisa and Mark Macera of Chittenango.
