Women's soccer battles to a 1-0 overtime win against Wilson College

On a sunny Sunday afternoon the Morrisville State College women's soccer team scored :33 seconds into the second overtime to beat Wilson College 1-0.



The Mustangs dominated the game, taking 35 shots to Wilson's three, but was unable to convert on their opportunities through regulation and the first overtime period.



At the 100:33 minute of the game Krista Baxter (Downsville, N.Y.) received a pass from Erin Rundle (Marathon, N.Y.) as she streaked down the left side of the field. After beating her defender, Baxter ripped a shot into the upper right hand corner, beating Phoenix goaltender Elizabeth Boratenski (Silver Springs, M.D.) and securing the win for the Mustangs.



With the win Morrisville State earns their first victory in conference play and improve to 2-5-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the NEAC.



Elizabeth Boratenski (Silver Springs, M.D.) recorded the loss for Wilson College, who replaced starting goalkeeper Katie Murphy (Schnecksville, P.A.) 22 minutes into the game, tallying 10 saves while Murphy recorded three saves.



Jennifer Zidzik (Lambertville, N.J.) recorded the win for the Mustangs tallying two saves.



Morrisville State is back on the road to take on Albany Pharmacy on Thursday, September 30 at 7 PM at Union College.
