Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33)
The Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33) helps you pay for school or cover expenses while you’re training for a job. If you’ve served on active duty after September 10, 2001, you may qualify for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33). Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance
If you’re the child or spouse of a Veteran or service member who has died, is captured or missing, or is permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability, you may be eligible for the Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) program. Refer to the Survivors’ And Dependents’ Educational Assistance page for further eligibility guidelines, rates and application.
Fry Scholarship
If you’re the child or spouse of a member of the Armed Forces or the Selected Reserve who died on or after September 11, 2001, you may be eligible for the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship (Fry Scholarship). Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship
The Edith Nourse Rogers Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) Scholarship allows eligible Veterans using the Post-9/11 GI Bill® or dependents using the Fry Scholarship to get added benefits. This scholarship provides up to 9 months (or $30,000) of benefits for training in high-demand fields. Veterans Tuition Awards
Tuition Award for Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, or other eligible combat veterans pursuing an undergraduate, graduate degree or vocational training program. Award covers cost of tuition and is available to students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or in an approved vocational training program in New York State. NYS Regents Awards for Children of Deceased and Disabled Veterans
Scholarships for students whose parent served in the U.S. Armed Forces during designated periods of war or national emergencies and as a result have passed, become disabled, are missing in action, or were taken as a prisoner of war. Military Enhanced Recognition Incentive & Tribute (MERIT) Scholarship
Scholarships for children, spouses, and financial dependents of members of the United States Armed Forces or state-organized militia who died or became severely and permanently disabled performing their military duties. Academic Credit for Military Experience and Prior Education
Service members may be eligible to receive college credits for military learning experiences based on an approved list of course equivalencies from the American Council on Education.
In order to have your military transcripts evaluated, please utilize the JOINT SERVICE TRANSCRIPT (Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps & Navy) or CCAF Transcript (Air Force) and have your transcripts sent to SUNY Morrisville.

Edward J. Collings ’77 Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for students attending Morrisville on Chapter 33 or Chapter 35 Veterans’ Benefits. Preference will be given to a student studying a technology degree. Recipients are eligible for, but not guaranteed, scholarship renewal each year for the length of their degree program, provided they remain in good academic standing.
