MORRISVILLE, NY—After helping bring joy to children in need of care, the SUNY Morrisville Campus Activities Board (CAB) was recently honored with the 2018 Northeast Community Service Event of the Year award by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA).

As the temperature soared into the mid-90s during this year’s Great New York State Fair, patrons lined up in front of Gilligan’s Ice Cream stand. A large sign touting premium handcrafted hard ice cream enticed fairgoers as they wiped their brows with napkins and fanned themselves to the beat of music emanating from a nearby booth. Some longed for the decadent refreshment to beat the heat, while others were hopped up to taste test Gilligan’s new frozen concoction: ice cream mixed with beer.

MORRISVILLE, NY—A beer produced by SUNY Morrisville agricultural business students is now on tap at the Copper Turret Restaurant & Brewhouse, in Morrisville, and three other student-made products are for sale at the Nelson Farms Country Store, on Route 20 in the Town of Nelson.  
MORRISVILLE, NY—SUNY Morrisville is selling a colorful array of poinsettias. The popular, decorative plants are on sale now through Dec. 7 at the Spader Horticulture Complex on the SUNY Morrisville campus, Monday through Friday, from noon to 4 p.m. The sale is open to the public.
WATERVILLE, NY— SUNY Morrisville student Kristin Dominic has an interest in building tiny homes. Reed Lucas wants to augment his nursery business, and Nick Geswaldo has a desire to learn more about hardscaping. They’re all getting a breadth of experience to help craft their careers through a Masonry & Foundations class taught by Michael Gridley, ’04, assistant professor of residential construction.   
MORRISVILLE, NY—Embracing change was a common theme among presenters during the inaugural Agricultural Summit held at SUNY Morrisville.  The event, which drew innovators and leaders from throughout the agriculture industry, focused on future goals and needs in agricultural education, as well as workforce development with both an academic and industry focus. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—SUNY Morrisville was formally awarded as the Grand National Champion of the 2018 U.S. Open College Beer Championship, as presented to the college that brews the best beers in North America.  The presentation was held at the Copper Turret Restaurant & Brewhouse, Morrisville’s student-teaching facility where the championship beers were brewed before the college was crowned as champions last May.
