MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College’s horse racing programs notched another victory, this time with one of its Standardbreds, at the Vernon Downs harness racing track.  The July 6 race was a mark in both the driver’s and horse’s career.  Driver Cole Wimmer, of Camden, an instructional support assistant at MSC, raced Mr. Wiskers to the win, claiming his first career pari-mutuel driving victory. Wimmer is a 2006 graduate of the college’s equine racing management, Standardbred program. 
MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College’s hospitality department announces the following International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA) Awards.  Nathaniel Lovell, of Cazenovia, a restaurant management major, received an IFSEA South Carolina Palmetto Branch Scholarship. A member of the gold medal team in the IFSEA Bistro Challenge, Lovell works at the Copper Turret, a college-run restaurant, serves as the IFSEA student president and was named to the college’s Dean’s List. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus and DCMO BOCES are partnering to offer a summer teaching workshop, Using Nature and Research in the Classroom, at the Riverbend Golf Course, in New Berlin. There are three dates to choose from: July 22, July 29 or August 5. Sessions are limited to 15 people. 
MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College will host more than 1,000 high school junior boys and staff at this year’s American Legion Boys State program Boys State government camp June 26-July 2. Attendees were chosen based on their exceptional qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty, and service to their schools.
MORRISVILLE, NY—Morrisville State College equine students had a lot to cheer about last week when a second horse claimed victory at the Finger Lakes Racetrack.  The most recent win, on June 12, went to Hot Idea, a Brown Mare trained by Dr. Clyde Cranwell, associate professor and director of the college’s Thoroughbred program.  It’s the college’s second win of the season. The first win on June 9, went to Don’t Back Down, a Bay Gelding trained by Cranwell. 
MORRISVILLE, NY— One of Morrisville State College’s Thoroughbreds raced its way to victory at the Finger Lakes Racetrack June 9.  The win went to Don’t Back Down, a Bay Gelding trained by Dr. Clyde Cranwell, associate professor and director of the college’s Thoroughbred program, for a $9,000 purse. The horse, purchased as a yearling, was broke and trained with students in MSC’s Thoroughbred racing program. 
MORRISVILLE, NY — The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners has reaffirmed accreditation of the business programs at Morrisville State College.

MORRISVILLE, NY— Morrisville State College students were honored for their achievements during the 15th annual Liberal Arts Tea. The event is part of the college’s annual celebration of academic excellence.
MORRISVILLE, NY— They learned about farm-grown biodiesel, made a fence out of pine logs, figured out how to wire a circuit, and had the chance to climb a 120-foot turbine tower. They also gained a better understanding about leadership, personal growth, career success and the agricultural industry. It was all part of this year’s State FFA Convention hosted at the Morrisville State College campus May 14-16, which attracted more than 1,100 of the best high school students and future NYS agricultural leaders.
