NORWICH, N.Y. — Despite a rare degenerative disease that has forced her to change the course of her life, Marsha Friedel is still all heart. And she is putting it to good use.   The New Berlin resident and human services student at the SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus is going to college at age 52, blazing a trail of giving along the way.   Friedel’s spirit and commitment are among the reasons she earned the State University of New York Association of Council Members and College Trustees Award for Excellence in Student Initiative Scholarship. 
NORWICH, N.Y. — As part of its 50th-anniversary celebration, the SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus hosted a dinner to honor members of the local community.   
SHERBURNE, NY—Talon Abrams has been fascinated with amphibians and reptiles since he was 4 years old, catching snakes and frogs in a backyard creek at his Madison home. Some even made their way into his bedroom so he could examine them more closely in a glass bowl.  That allure eventually led him to SUNY Morrisville to pursue a bachelor’s degree in renewable resources technology. He wants to land in a career where he can help aquatic life, animals and the environment. 
MORRISVILLE, NY—A SUNY Morrisville professor is bringing his classroom to life. Assistant professor of biology Eric Diefenbacher from the SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus recently took two of his classes outdoors for “live-learning” sessions.
The first time Christine Barta-Gallagher wrote a paper for a Morrisville State College class, she cried. “It was overwhelming,” she said. “It took me days to write that paper. For me to sit down and type 2,000 words was really difficult.”
